Many outfitters utilize a 1-5 difficulty range to give an estimate of the trip’s hiking and overall challenge. 1-2 mellow hikes, 3-4 challenging and 5 difficult, type 2 fun. We find it’s helpful for all involved. We’re all about work hard, play hard with a good balance of vacation vibe! This puts most of our itineraries in the 3-4 zone. We will make you work, you will be tired, but we provide the sleep systems for recovery and amenities for relaxation.

We like to keep our group sizes small enough to move through the parks but big enough for a good time! We like to keep our group sizes between 8-10 guests with our smallest group of 4 to confirm a trip.

If a trip does not confirm with the minimum number of guests 30 days prior to trip departure we will do our best to reschedule for a confirmed trip or work with your travelers insurance.

Please wait for email confirmation before booking flights and hotels!

We do and you can! Solo travelers are always welcome and wanted! Don't be scared as all trips are friendly and fun!

We recommend getting travelers insurance for your trip as emergencies and situations do happen in life. Trip insurance can cover you in many situations including:

  • Medical injuries
  • Family emergencies
  • Natural events
  • Missed or delayed flights
  • ....and many others

We’re hitting the trail, rain or shine! We’ll send out an updated weather forecast and adjusted gear list if necessary a week out from our trip start date. Adjusting trails or itinerary in the moment for unforeseen, disruptive or extreme weather in the field does happen.

In the case of hazardous weather which cannot be avoided, we retain the right to cancel the trip completely for everyone’s safety. If we cancel the trip before or during, we will refund your full amount paid within 30 days. Simple trail adjustment(s) for weather on a trip is not qualified for refund.

An example of this would be backpacking through challenging low lying wash terrain that has sudden or extreme flash flooding, forcing us to return instead of pushing forward, changing the entire layout and plan of the trip. Often we have alts/backups but sometimes they may not be viable. If something happens our aim is to do the right thing, keep everyone safe and happy as possible. However we will not pay for additional flight, hotel or travel expenses incurred in the event of total cancellation (Hotels, rentals, reservations).

These unexpected instances are few and far between, but they can happen. We recommend looking into travel insurance in case of these instances, which may help with travel expenses.
